Willow Weir Cottage

Willow Weir Cottage is one of the original stone houses located on Walkersons Country Estate, which is situated 14 kilometers from Dullstroom. It is a magnificent 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom luxury house graded as a 5-star establishment by the South African Tourism grading council. The cottage is conveniently located 2 hours away from the Kruger National Park, making it an ideal base to explore the Mpumalanga province.

The estate offers a range of activities, including fly fishing on 4 kilometers of river and 14 dams, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, bird watching, and game viewing. The cottage is fully furnished and can accommodate up to 10 guests. It features a fully equipped kitchen, a living area with a full DSTV package available in the main lounge and three bedrooms, a fireplace, a BBQ area, and other amenities. Firewood is supplied, and a generator is hard-wired to the house, ensuring a consistent power supply.

A housekeeper named Ester is available on-site from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm to provide daily housekeeping services, including washing up, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, resetting fires and braais, and generally ensuring guests' comfort. Ester also offers babysitting services in the evenings for a rate of R75 per hour, with a minimum of 3 hours. Guests are advised to arrange babysitting services directly with Ester.

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the owners have implemented safety measures to ensure the well-being of guests. The house is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between guest stays, and touch points are sanitized daily by Ester, who is regularly screened and wears a mask for the protection of guests and herself. A register of all guests is maintained for contact tracing purposes, and hand sanitizers are available in the house. Early check-ins and late check-outs are not accommodated during this period to allow ample time for thorough cleaning.
