Witkrans Lodge

Witkrans Lodge is situated on a working sheep farm, located 12 kilometers from the town of Middelburg in the tranquil Karoo region. The lodge offers one cottage with two en-suite bedrooms, which is fully equipped. Garages and braai facilities are available, with wood and braai packs provided. The cottage is designed to be pet- and wheelchair-friendly.

Middelburg lies in the heart of the Karoo, surrounded by mountains in an area renowned for its abundant and naturally occurring herbal plant life. Just outside Middelburg is the Karoo National Park, which is considered one of the main attractions in this part of the world, offering a wonderful example of how life has adapted to survive harsh weather conditions. Encompassed by the Nuweveld Mountains, the park is home to various wildlife species, including black rhinos, buffalos, Cape mountain zebras, and over 20 breeding pairs of black eagles. The park also features wonderful examples of succulent plants and small reptiles, as well as a bird hide that is worth visiting in the early morning and evening hours.

The skies above Middelburg are filled with stars at night, and the town is surrounded by waterfalls and streams that provide its water supply. The cottage at Witkrans Lodge features two comfortable en-suite rooms, each with a double bed and a single bed. The kitchen is fully equipped.
