Wolwefontein Lodge is a spacious five-bedroom guest house situated on a working farm, located approximately 30 km outside Colesberg on the N9. Kudu Cottage is a separate, freestanding unit located at a distance from the guest house, near the family farm house.

The lodge provides a quiet and scenic stopover for travelers heading towards Port Elizabeth and the Garden Route. As visitors approach the farm, they encounter an oasis-like contrast to the stark beauty of the Karoo region, with lovely green lands and a forest of poplar trees surrounding the guest house. Guests can relax in the vast serene space and enjoy the peace, abundant wilderness, and animal life.

At Wolwefontein, there are plenty of fun activities available for children throughout the year. These may include feeding orphaned lambs, observing newborn bucks, watching the mares and their foals, and engaging in imaginative play. Parents can relax while their children enjoy these experiences.

The guest house features five spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite or private bathroom. The rooms offer comfortable beds with crisp linens for a restful night's sleep. Two bedrooms can accommodate families of four each, one bedroom sleeps two guests, a cozy bedroom with a fireplace sleeps three guests, and the newly added Nguni room, also with a fireplace, sleeps two guests. Each bedroom has its own TV with a guest house DStv bouquet, separate entrance, and braai area. Self-catering facilities, including a microwave, bar fridge, tea and coffee amenities, cutlery, and crockery, are provided in each room.

Wolwefontein Lodge is pet-friendly, but only for small breeds. Three rooms (Nguni, Lion, and Eagle) have fenced enclosures where small pets can roam off-leash. The Elephant and Guinea Fowl rooms can accommodate small pets, but they must be kept under control and nearby, as there are no enclosures at the front of the guest house. Kudu Cottage is not pet-friendly.

Guests can enjoy barbecue facilities under the star-filled sky or take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool at the main house. Undercover parking is provided, and two cots are available free of charge for guests with babies or toddlers.

Wolwefontein Lodge is ideally situated for day trips to surrounding areas, such as Graaff-Reinet (160 km away), a charming town with a rich history to explore. The Colesberg museum offers information about the Boer War, as well as interesting walks through the town and surrounding areas related to Boer War skirmishes and sites. The Gariep Dam is located 70 km away, where visitors can organize day trips on a houseboat or relax by the waterside. White water rafting and horse riding activities are also available near the dam.
