Wyford Farm

Wyford Farm is a small working farm situated in a picturesque mountainous area off Van Reenen Pass along the N3. The farm was built in the 1870s and has a rich history as a trading store on the route between Johannesburg and Durban. It is located approximately 40 kilometers from Ladysmith and Harrismith, making it possible for visitors to take day trips to battlefield sites and Northern Berg resorts.

The farm has beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and horses that visitors can interact with. It offers comfortable accommodation in four separate and private self-catering units, each equipped with its own TV, carport, braai area, and garden. The units are serviced daily, and each one has a fireplace inside and a braai area outside. Pets are accommodated in three of the cottages that have fenced gardens.

Wyford Farm is considered a paradise for children, allowing them to experience the freedom of wide open spaces and interact with farm animals. The farm also features a swimming pool, horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, walking, and birding opportunities. Guests are required to bring their own mountain bikes.

The cottages are child-friendly and suitable for children of all ages, with enclosed gardens. There are numerous walks and bike riding opportunities available, offering scenic mountain views and the chance to observe farm animals. Aloe Cottage can accommodate up to five adults or children in one double bed and one single bed in the loft bedroom, as well as two adults or children in single beds in the downstairs bedroom. The bathroom has a shower located downstairs.
