Wyford Farm is a charming working farm nestled in the mountainous region off Van Reenen Pass in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The property offers four distinct self-catering cottages, each featuring private gardens and braai (BBQ) areas, combining rustic charm with modern comfort.
The accommodation options include Aloe Cottage, which sleeps up to five people with a combination of double and single beds across two levels; Poplar Cottage, the largest unit, accommodating up to eight guests with multiple bedroom configurations; Jacaranda Cottage, a cozy unit for two with a double bed and fireplace; and Garden Cottage, which can host up to three guests in a bed-sitter arrangement.
All cottages are equipped with fireplaces for winter comfort and electric blankets, while fans are provided for summer months. The two larger cottages feature fully equipped kitchens with stoves, while the smaller units have kitchenettes with two-plate stoves. Each unit includes private bathrooms, comfortable beds, and both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Daily servicing is provided, and pets are welcomed upon request in select cottages with fenced gardens.
The farm, which includes beef cattle, pigs, sheep, and horses, offers various activities such as horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, and bird watching. A farm-style pool is available when water supplies permit. The property is easily accessible via a 2km hard surface farm road from the N3 highway, positioned approximately 40 kilometers from both Ladysmith and Harrismith, making it an ideal base for exploring battlefield sites and Northern Berg resorts.
