Xaoo Safari Camp

Xaoo Safari Camp is a luxury tented accommodation situated in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta, Botswana, seventeen kilometers west of Shorobe Village. The camp, whose name means 'Buffalo' in Sesarwa, was established after an inspiring family visit to the Delta in 2016, with a strong focus on conservation and cultural preservation.

The property features six luxury tented and raised chalets, each accommodating up to four people. The chalets are strategically spaced for privacy and feature super-sized king beds or twin beds, indoor bathtubs, outdoor showers, and modern amenities including multiple charging points and hot water.

The camp's location near the tiny village of Xuxao makes it home to diverse Batswana tribes, including Basarwa, Bayei, and Baherero natives. The establishment is deeply committed to supporting the local community of approximately 300 natives in the NG35 concession through fresh water provision, food supplies, and sustainable employment opportunities.

Activities at Xaoo Safari Camp include their signature Mokoro experience, offering traditional dugout canoe rides through the Delta's waterways. The camp also provides game drives, nature walks, cultural experiences, and star gazing sessions. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with frequent sightings during transfers and activities.

The camp maintains strong conservation practices through partnerships with local organizations and implementation of sustainable tourism practices. They offer comprehensive arrival services from Maun Airport, including shopping assistance and transfer options via road or helicopter.

Visitors are advised to pack appropriately for varying weather conditions, particularly during the cold months of May through August.
