Yellow House

Yellow House is a property situated on the outskirts of the quaint Karoo town of Prince Albert. It is one of the historical 'dorpsplase' (town farms) with a street address and within walking or cycling distance from the town's center, which features art galleries, eateries, antique shops, and a museum.

The property has almond and citrus orchards, as well as pomegranate and fig trees. Guests are encouraged to wander around the working farm and enjoy the seasonal produce against the backdrop of the magnificent Swartberg Mountains. Accommodation is provided in four comfortable self-catering cottages, each with its own private stoep overlooking different aspects of the farm, such as the garden, orchard, or mountains.

Guests are supplied with coffee, tea, milk, sugar, home-baked rusks, firewood for the first night, soap, and mosquito repellent. For adventurous visitors, the Swartberg Pass offers scenic routes for mountain biking, hiking, and motorcycling. Foodies can indulge in fig, olive, and wine farms, cooking events, and local produce found in shops and the Saturday market.

Prince Albert is home to various artists, writers, and a local showroom that features movies and performances by well-known artists. Borrie Cottage, one of the accommodations offered, has two single beds, a bathroom with a shower, and is ideal for business travelers seeking a comfortable night's rest. The kitchenette is equipped with a mini-oven/stove, microwave, kettle, and coffee plunger. The unit is air-conditioned.
