Zandrivier Working Farm is situated in the heart of the Karoo and is the highest farm in the Western Cape, located only 65 km from Laingsburg and 50 km from Ladismith. The farm offers quiet private accommodation in a beautiful setting located between the Klein Swartberg and Elandberg mountains.

Zandrivier has three separate private cottages surrounded by the Swartberg and Elandsberg mountains. It offers the opportunity for guests to either get away from it all or be part of farm life. Children are encouraged to interact with the animals, which may include milking a cow, feeding the chickens, ducks, and donkeys, or enjoying the lambs and calves that are close to the main house.

The farm provides a relaxing environment and, being about 1200 m above sea level, it enjoys snowfall during most winters. All cottages are equipped with fireplaces. Guests can enjoy walking trails on the farm and are free to bring mountain bikes. Zandrivier is a sheep farm with some Nguni cattle.

The farm has easy access to the Seweweekspoort Piek, which is the highest point above sea level in the Western Cape. There are two kloofs with rock pools that can be explored by more adventurous guests. Electricity is provided, and there is cell phone reception, but no MTN network.

One of the romantic cottages sleeps two people in a double bed and has a large en-suite bathroom with a large romantic bath tub. Although the cottage is situated within proximity to the main house, it features complete privacy, with a private lawn, braai facilities, and beautiful views. There is cell phone service, but no MTN service.
