Zonnenstrahl Camping Ground

The Zonnenstrahl Camping Ground is situated on the outskirts of Nieu-Bethesda, in lush grounds featuring peaceful willow trees. It offers affordable camping accommodation in a quiet and relaxing environment. The camping ground comprises eight sites, each with access to power points, water points, and braai facilities. There are communal ablutions with two separate toilets and two showers.

The town of Nieu-Bethesda has been shaped by tragedy, fertility, and religion. It has a strong sense of community and many historical sites. The famous Owl House is the town's main attraction, and an important stop where visitors can learn the sad yet inspirational story of Helen Martins and experience the legacy she left behind.

Like other country towns, Nieu-Bethesda has a lovely church, a police station, a small general dealer, craft shops, coffee shops, the Sneeuberg Brewery, and the Fossil Centre. The Zonnenstrahl Camping Ground offers eight camping sites with power points and water at each site, as well as braai facilities. The ablution block has two bathrooms, each fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin, and two separate single toilets.
