Zoutspruit Bed & Breakfast

The Zoutspruit Bed & Breakfast is a lodge located on a working farm in Kroonstad, which has been owner-managed since 1999. The establishment is situated halfway between Limpopo/Mpumalanga and Gauteng/Bloemfontein, 18 km south of Kroonstad when traveling from Johannesburg and 27 km north of Ventersburg when traveling from Bloemfontein. It is located 2 km from the N1, ensuring a peaceful night's rest without any noise or lights from traffic and trucks.

Admission to the Zoutspruit Bed & Breakfast is reserved, and motorcycles/bikers are not accommodated. The rates exclude a buffet breakfast, but room service is offered upon request. The establishment caters to dietary restrictions and preferences. Guests can enjoy farm activities or spend time in the game camp. All amenities are included, and the suites have en-suite bathrooms. Each suite has its own private entrance, and safe and secure parking is provided in front of the entrance.

The Zoutspruit turn-off is clearly signposted from the N1, and the local road leads for 2 km to the Zoutspruit farmhouse, where individual guest rooms are located among shaded trees in a cool and relaxing garden. Safe and secure covered parking is available close to the rooms at the main reception area for overnight visitors. Every guest room has an en-suite bathroom, and attention is paid to small details such as current magazines and a complimentary tea and coffee facility with fresh rusks and biscuits. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, each with a TV set, radio, and other luxuries and comforts expected for overnight accommodation.

Zoutspruit offers activities like a game farm and farm holidays. The Zoutspruit game camp offers game viewing, hiking, and bird watching. For eco-tourists, there are several points of interest, including the second-largest blue gum tree in the Free State. Walking activities range from leisurely walks past farm activities to longer hikes through the main game camp. Guests can also enjoy swimming or relaxing in the garden. Kroonstad, located 16 km from Zoutspruit, offers several restaurants, pubs, nightspots, and a wide variety of sporting facilities, including fishing.

For relaxation, there is a private and sheltered braai and entertainment area behind the guest rooms, with a small game camp nearby, separated by a standard game fence. Visitors can relax on the provided garden furniture and view antelope and bird species at close range. The establishment has several game species, including Lechwe buck, Waterbuck, White Springbuck, and Blesbuck. Pets are allowed on prior arrangement.
