Zululand Lodge is a privately owned tented camp situated on the 800 hectare uKuwela wildlife conservancy, located in the heart of the Elephant Coast in northern KwaZulu Natal. The eco-friendly lodge is built on a slope, offering breathtaking views of the Msinene River valley and surrounding bushveld. It is in close proximity to the town of Hluhluwe, the famous Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, and the World Heritage iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

The camp features 9 tastefully decorated en-suite permanent canvas rooms that can accommodate up to 18 people. The elegantly furnished central lodge area provides an open-air cushioned lounge area where guests can relax. Homemade meals are served in the spacious dining area, which is included in the Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast rate. The viewing deck upstairs offers uninterrupted scenery and spectacular sunsets, perfect for enjoying sundowners. The lodge is accessible by sedan car on approximately 5km of gravel road.

Zululand Lodge is an environmentally sustainable project, designed and built from the ground up. It operates on a solar power system and LED lighting throughout the camp, and is completely off-grid. Rainwater is collected in tanks and used for cleaning, grounds irrigation, and for a small waterhole in front of the camp.

The lodge offers locally guided bush walks, providing opportunities to observe the abundant birdlife and attempt to spot plains game on the reserve. Guests can also take a short drive to nearby Big 5 game reserves, such as Phinda, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi, and Mkhuze Game Reserves, for a more adventurous experience. Zululand Lodge caters to couples seeking a tranquil break in a wilderness setting, keen birders, and families wanting to enjoy quality time together.
